      Featured Image

Keeping up with constantly changing industry standards and innovations is no simple task for medical practices today. This is especially true of providers' electronic health and medical record software, which requires frequent updates in order to remain current. At InSync Healthcare Solutions, we deliver a consistent cycle of new and improved features that keep practices compliant and providers efficient. Below is an overview of features and EHR updates for March 2022.

March 2022 Updates to the InSync EHR Software

Featuring the latest in EMR/EHR and practice management software technology, here are the highlights of this release:

      EHR SOFTWARE UPDATES

      Enhanced Timecard and Productivity Dashboard

You’ll now have the ability to grant visibility permissions for your organization’s Timeclock, along with Productivity and Goals Achievement tracking, and Billable/Non-Billable tasks all from a centralized location. Select your preferred settings from each Dashboard dropdown to configure with ease and add new fields to best suit your processes. Schedule reporting as needed.

Setting Charting History Elements by Program

You can configure charting history elements per program, allowing you to populate history elements in each encounter based on the programs administered. For example, if you have configured the Social History element with an ASAM program, the system will show the Social History section only for those encounters that have ASAM program selected.

      PM Software Updates

Applying the Rule Engine and Business Rules Before Claims Mergers

Now you can apply rules before automatic merging of claims takes place, all directly from the Rule Engine Configuration screen.

When creating a new rule, an Apply Rule before Merging checkbox allows you to manage which rules are applicable. During the merging process, when multiple rules are found, the system will first apply the ones that are to be performed ‘before merging’, then the merging process will take place. Next, the system will apply ‘after merging’ rules not selected in the ‘before’ sequencing.

Associate an Unapplied Credit to a Program

Using the Unapplied Credit Entries screen, you can display insurance and patient unapplied credits on general ledgers that are mapped to a program. Make sure you’ve mapped insurance and patient unapplied entries with each program to ensure attribution accuracy within the patient records.

In the Search panel, select the desired parameters and click on the Search button. Insurance and patient unapplied entries will appear in the fields list, including Unapplied Type, Patient, Payer, Program, Unapplied Date, Unapplied Amount, Unapplied Balance, and Fund Type.

Fire Rule Enabled for Total Encounter Duration

In the Rule Engine for Merged Claims, the system enables the Fire rule to be executed based on the total encounter duration, for both manually and automatically merged claims. When the Total Enc. Duration checkbox is selected, the system will consider total duration of all the encounters when applying the rule. When this checkbox isn’t selected, the software will check only the default encounter duration when executing the rule.

The system also allows you to apply rules before automatic merging of claims takes place.
