Recently, three members of the InSync team ventured out to sunny San Francisco to attend the American Psychiatric Association’s 2019 Annual Meeting. Their attendance was notable for two reasons: this year marks the APA’s 175 anniversary—no small milestone—and also highlights InSync’s own status as one of two EHR software vendors who are APA PsychPRO-certified.
About the Annual Meeting
Running from May 18-22nd, the APA’s Annual Meeting hosted hundreds of mental health software vendors and professionals. Over 675 general sessions were offered, with topics ranging from group therapy to administrative training, to cultural biases in medicine and more.
Additionally, interactive classes were made available as well as various keynote speakers from renowned industry leaders.
In honor of the APA’s 175th anniversary, a few additional programming features were added to commemorate the occasion, including:
- A Historical Scientific Program Track
- 175th Anniversary MindGames- History Edition
- What’s Your Story?—Video Recording Booths for APA Library and Archives
Additionally, the 175th Anniversary Gala was hosted at San Francisco City Hall. All proceeds benefited the APA Foundation.
Why InSync Attended
In January 2019, InSync was officially named PsychPRO-certified. PsychPRO, created by the APA, is a CMS Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR). Software connected to PsychPRO—like InSync’s—enables behavioral health clients to avoid payment penalties and instead achieve bonuses for meeting the 2019 quality reporting requirements.
With this in mind, we wanted to connect with members at the Annual Meeting, so InSync President Roland Therriault and Regional Sales Managers Sean Darby and Jack Day attended. At Booth #1622, our team got to meet many wonderful conference-goers and demonstrated the efficiency of InSync’s highly adaptable software.
If we missed you at the conference or you were unable to attend, it’s not too late to see our solutions for yourself! Click here to schedule a demo to see firsthand how our PsychPRO-certified software can benefit your practice.
